In addition to our Howth lobster and the fact that the vast majority of our vegetables and herbs now come from our very own 'kitchen garden' we have another treat in store.........
Starting on beginning of July 2010 Aqua will be getting all of our beef exclusively from Lambay Island. Customers can rest assured that they probably traveled further than our beef did to get to Aqua!
The beef is entirely natural and has been born and reared on the island - no sprays, no grain, no nothing! The cattle have been living entirely off the land feeding on heather, grass and bineweed which we are assured gives them a thoroughly unique flavor!

Did You Know....
Lambay is the largest island off Ireland's east coast and was
referred to as early as 150 AD by the Greeks as Limnus or Limni, meaning
snail, because of its silhouette. Lambay, the name given to the island
by Norsemen comes from the practice of sending ewes to the island in
springtime.
Colmcille visited the island in the 6th Century and he
established a monastery there. The
Vikings came to Lambay in 795, raided the monastery and used the
island as a base for attacking Fingal. Lambay became a haunt for pirates
in the 15th Century and was subsequently populated by English colonists
to drive smugglers off. The island is now privately owned.
